The Ebersole Foundation was established in 2003 exclusively for charitable, scientific, and educational purposes.  More specifically, to raise funds to assist the Vernon D. Ebersole Environmental Education and Conference Center in land acquisition, capital improvements, stewardship activities, program development, and to subsidize the cost of camp attendance for Lansing School District students.

The immediate goal for the Foundation is to purchase additional properties adjacent to the Center, thus protecting it from urban sprawl that would severely limit its usefulness.

Currently, the Foundation is focusing on raising funds to purchase an 80-acre farm adjacent to the Center property.  This farm includes 55 acres of agricultural land plus wetlands that adjoin the Center's wetland area, a spring-fed pond, and a portion of the Rabbit River, a rare cold-water trout stream.  It also includes a farmhouse, barn, and pole barn that would be assets for the Center's Programs.
